Ethics Review Committee Social Sciences
The Committee’s main task is to review research proposals on ethically responsible scientific conduct. The conditions and principles applied by the Committee are set out in the Regulations Ethics Review Committee Social Sciences.
Ethical review can be relevant in cases concerning the privacy of research subjects, aspects of human dignity during interviewing, the acquisition of mutual consent and possible conflicts of interests in the case of third money flow (i.e. contract research). In certain cases, an ethical review is required by external organisations such as the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
