When students do an internship, Leiden University in principle uses an internship agreement from the Universities of the Netherlands (UNL). This is a standard agreement for research universities.
The UNL internship agreement states what the internship organisation and the university offer by way of supervision and what form the assessment of the internship will take. It also contains clear agreements on interns’ rights, including their legal status, the aim of the internship and how any conflicts will be resolved. The agreement also states how confidential information, intellectual property and the publication of research results will be handled.
